What you encode is what gets scanned.
One thing to be aware of before you paste anything sensitive: unlike our PDF and image tools, which do all their work inside your browser, this generator renders the QR image through the third-party goqr.me API. The text you encode is sent to that service. For a public URL that's fine. For a password or private data, it isn't — so don't use it for those.

Troubleshooting and edge cases
My QR code isn't scanning.⌄
Usually one of four things: (1) the encoded text is very long, which makes the matrix dense — shorten the URL with a link shortener; (2) the printed code is too small, aim for at least 2cm x 2cm; (3) it's printed on a low-contrast or glossy surface; or (4) it's distorted by being stretched non-proportionally in a layout tool.
The QR code looks pixelated when printed.⌄
PNG is resolution-dependent, so pick the 1024px size for anything going to print and don't scale it up further in your layout tool. For a business card, 1024px is comfortably enough.
Can I add a logo in the centre or change the colours?⌄
Not with this tool — it produces a standard black-on-white PNG. Adding a centre logo also requires raising the QR error-correction level to compensate, which this generator doesn't expose. If you need branded codes, use a dedicated QR service.
Can I encode Wi-Fi credentials or a contact card?⌄
Only by hand-writing the raw string yourself (for example the WIFI:S:...;P:...;; format), and we'd advise against putting a Wi-Fi password through this tool at all, since the text is sent to a third-party API to render the image.
